Folium Tea Co

Our approach to sustainability

From Garden
to Cup

A good cup begins long before the kettle boils. We’re building Folium Tea Co around considered choices: the tea we source, the people we work with and the materials we leave behind.

How to dispose of your sachet & pyramid
Misty green tea gardens across a wooded hillside

Growing towards our 2027 launch. Folium Tea Co is not yet trading or organically certified. This page sets out our approach and the work underway; final product and packaging details will be published before launch.

01 / Thoughtful sourcing

Good tea starts
with good choices.

Our pyramid teabag range is being developed as a certified organic collection. We are progressing Folium Tea Co’s organic certification for this range and will make the status of each product clear when it launches.

Our loose leaf teas are chosen for exceptional quality. They are not organic and are not described or marketed as organic.

Responsible sourcing also means considering the people behind the leaf. Our supplier standards cover freely chosen work, safe working conditions, fair treatment and accurate origin information.

We ask our tea and packing partners for product specifications, traceability information and relevant certificates. These checks are part of an ongoing process of understanding our supply chain.

02 / FUSO pyramids & renewable energy

Packed with care.
Powered by renewable energy.

Our FUSO pyramid teabags will be packed in Great Britain using solar and other renewable energy.

Our packing partner, Kingdom Tea Brokers, generates solar electricity at its UK facility and reports using solar or renewable energy for its teabags.

That is a specific step in the tea’s journey. Growing, processing, packaging materials and transport also have an environmental impact, which we will work to understand and improve as Folium grows.

Our packing partner’s energy statement

Supplier information checked 8 October 2026. The energy statement relates to tea packing, not the whole product lifecycle.

03 / After the last sip

Every part
deserves a thought.

Our approach pairs a plant-based pyramid with a paper-based protective sachet, designed for industrial composting. Read our disposal guide to understand the materials, why they need controlled composting conditions and what to do after your cup. Final specifications and finished-pack evidence are being checked before launch.

01

The pyramid

Our planned FUSO pyramid uses NeoSoilon®: a fine, silky mesh made from sugarcane-derived PLA. It gives whole leaves room to infuse and is designed for industrial composting.

02

The string & tag

Small details matter too. Our checks cover the string, tag, inks and attachment, so disposal guidance reflects the complete bag.

03

The envelope

Our paper-based sachet is designed to seal in freshness with a food-contact barrier against moisture and light. Its barrier layers mean it needs its own disposal guidance; it should not be treated as ordinary paper.

Before you compost: plant-based does not automatically mean home-compostable. Follow the instructions for the particular component and check whether your local collection accepts it. Read our sachet and pyramid disposal guide.

04 / Progress with purpose

A standard we
keep working on.

We’ll update this page as specifications are confirmed and our business develops. Clear information is part of the commitment.
